Children of Men
Children of Men is a 2006 Academy Award-nominated apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Alfonso CuarĂ³n and distributed and co-produced by Universal Pictures. Adapted from P.D. James’ 1992 novel The Children of Men, the cast includes Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, Claire-Hope Ashitey, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Caine. Children of Men was nominated for three Oscars at the 79th Academy Awards ceremony in 2007.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is an action film and the third part of the trilogy initiated by the 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, following the 2006’s Dead Man’s Chest. At World’s End is directed by Gore Verbinski, the director of the previous two films. The film’s cast includes returnees Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport, Tom Hollander and Naomie Harris. Chow Yun-Fat makes his first appearance in the franchise as one of the film’s antagonists. Keith Richards also makes an appearance as Jack Sparrow’s father. Disney has announced a global release date of May 25, 2007.
Transformers
Transformers is a 2007 live action science fiction film conceptually based on the Transformers franchise and toy line. The film is directed by Michael Bay with Steven Spielberg acting as the executive producer. The film stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky who discovers the map to the Allspark, the source of life which the heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons wage a war over. The project originated with producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto. This adaptation is the Transformers’ first American feature film since The Transformers: The Movie in 1986. However, this film is intended to be a reboot of the franchise, with a new complex design aesthetic for the Transformers. It has a release date of July 2, 2007 in Australia, July 4, 2007 in the United States and Canada and July 27, 2007 in the United Kingdom.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
TMNT (also known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in some countries) is a 2007 film based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. The film sees the Turtles grown apart after their defeat of The Shredder and their sensei, Master Splinter, is trying to keep the family together. Meanwhile, strange things are happening in New York City. An army of ancient creatures threatens to take over the world and the Turtles must unite again to save the world.
Wolf Creek
Wolf Creek is a 2005 Australian horror film, written, produced and directed by Greg McLean and starring Cassandra Magrath, Kestie Morassi, John Jarratt and Nathan Phillips. It was released in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland on 16 September 2005, on 3 November 2005 in Australia (apart from the Northern Territory), and on 25 December 2005 in the United States.
Employee of the Month
Employee of the Month is a film released on October 6, 2006. It focuses on events that happen at a Costco-like store (yet filmed in a Costco store), where two co-workers, Zack (Dane Cook) and Vince (Dax Shepard), compete for the affection of the new cashier, Amy (Jessica Simpson). The movie is directed by Greg Coolidge and is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual humor and language. It was released on DVD January 16, 2007.
